I am an English teacher living in Taiwan; Taichung City to be more precise. I moved to Taiwan in February of 2009 and I guess I kind of just got stuck. I should’ve started writing about life here some time ago, but to be honest, looking back on all the ups and downs, adventures and heartbreak, fleeting friendships and expat drama, I probably wouldn’t have stuck with it.

Oddly enough, now that life has settled down and I finally feel content in my job and relationships, I have decided it’s time to go back to the United States. Maybe I don’t know how to settle down? It’s starting to seem like everytime I finally figure out how to get around an area, I up and decide to leave! I actually just moved for the sixth (and hopefully final) time from the south end of the city to a district farther north. I guess being perpetually lost is just a part of my life.

Anyways, I am hoping to share some everyday experiences and adventures as well as information about my transition from expat life in Taiwan back to being a resident of America.
